The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office received re-certification through the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program July 31, 2011. It is the third re-certification for the agency since it was originally certified in 1998.

During the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners meeting at The Bluffs on December 6, Woodstock Police Chief David Bores presented Chief Deputy Vic West a plaque commemorating the accomplishment.
